College and Young Democrats of Iowa
Leadership Elections July 6 at 4 pm

Pursuant to the College and Young Democrats of Iowa (CYDI) Constitution we will hold a Special Election to fill the vacancies on the Executive Board. This special election will be Sunday, July 6 at 4pm. These elections will fill out the remainder of the term (through Summer 2026). CYDI is open to any individual who is 36 years of age or younger, who is registered as a Democrat, and who claims residency in the state of Iowa or is attending a college based in the state of Iowa. As a reminder, those who are 17 but will turn 18 by November 4, 2025 are eligible to register to vote in Iowa. Registration is available at: https://sos.iowa.gov/voters/voter-registration

The voting body of this election will be composed of those who are eligible members of CYDI and who have filled out the CYDI membership form by Saturday, July 5 at 4pm. Register as a member at:

The positions that must be filled at this election in order to recharter with the Young Democrats of America, pursuant to the YDA constitution and charter bylaws, are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

We will also be filling the seats of Political Director, High School Constituency Director, College Constituency Director, and Young Professionals Director, as allowed by the CYDI constitution.

During the election we will call for nominations from the floor and nominators will be given one minute to speak prior to the nominee being asked to accept the nomination. Each candidate will be given two minutes to speak before the vote begins. Candidates who self nominate forfeit the one minute granted to nominators to speak.
