Come meet Teresa and find out about her campaign for House District 51.

Teresa Perin, a high school English teacher with the Marshalltown Community School District, has announced she will be running for the Iowa house in District 51, which covers parts of Story and Marshall Counties.

The Democratic candidate recently retired from farming and lives on land in rural Marshall County. She is a graduate of West Marshall High School, Iowa State University, and earned her master’s degree at Viterbo University.

In an announcement, Perin Stated, “As a lifelong Iowan, I am running because we need innovative leadership who will make choices that benefit the people. I’ve watched the policies implemented in the last several years take Iowa from the top of the nation in education to the middle of the pack. I’ve watched the economy drop into negative growth. The same policies from the same politicians will not bring us a better future. I’m running because we need a fresh start for all Iowans.”

“I want to be the candidate who will look past party lines and speak to the individuals to serve everyone. It’s time to end the division and pull together to create the future we want for our state.”
